Man Charged With Drug Violation; Indictments Could Follow

CALIFORNIA --- According to Sgt. Edward Willenborg of the St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Department, a joint task force of the State Police and Sheriff’s deputies conducted an investigation into alleged dealing of the dangerous drug Oxycotin.

Police report that on November 17, 2004, members from the St. Mary’s Bureau of Criminal Investigations Narcotics Unit with assistance from the Calvert County Investigative Team conducted a reversal operation in the California area of St. Mary’s County.

The Bureau of Criminal Investigations developed information that Jeremy Weller had been purchasing substantial quantities of Oxycontin.

Weller was contacted and arrangements were made to sell him a quantity of Oxycontin.

Weller arrived at a previously agreed location where he was sold a quantity of placebo packaged to represent Oxycontine.

After the sale had been completed, Jeremy Weller and a second subject identified as Lawrence Fornier, were stopped leaving the location of the sale and arrested. Both were charged with Possession of a non-controlled substance that the person reasonably believes is a controlled dangerous substance (CR 5-618).
