Man Died After Being Trapped in Fire; Medic Delayed by Train
Apparatus was dispatched at 10:22 p.m. to a house fire with
a man
trapped at 7205 Greeley Road in the Kentland section of Landover.
Medic 55 was dispatched from the same station as the fire apparatus
(Truck 55R) that was delayed on the Nov. 18 house fire.
Eight minutes after being dispatched, Medic 55 advised that they were
still held up by the train at Annapolis Rd. At this point, units on
the scene had an elderly male they had pulled out of the building with
CPR in progress.
It took Medic 55 about 16 minutes to get to the scene. Shortly after
Medic 55 arrived, the ambulance from Bladensburg (Ambulance 98)
transported an approximately 55-year-old male in cardiac arrest to
Prince's George Hospital Center with the help of another medic (Medic
46) that was dispatched when Medic 55 advised they were still delayed
by the train.
