Man Killed in Head-On Crash

LEONARDTOWN --- On Monday at 6:13 am John Lee Goddard, 21, of La Plata, was traveling south bound on Maryland Route 5 in a 1998 Chevrolet pickup when he crossed the center line near Hanover Drive in Leonardtown and struck head-on a 2004 Ford pickup.   The Ford pickup was operated by James Walter Norris Jr., 41, of Leonardtown.  Norris’s truck was traveling north bound on Rt. 5.

Goddard was transported to St. Mary's Hospital via ambulance and was pronounced dead. Norris was flown to Baltimore Shock Trauma were he is listed in critical condition, according to Sgt. Theodore Belleavoine.
