Marjorie Richardson Jenkins,
82, of La Plata
Margorie Richardson Jenkins, 82, of La Plata died March 23, 2004, at Assistant Living,
Waldorf. She was a progan analyst. She worked at the Naval Ordnance Station, Navy
Department and Pentagon. She was a member of St. Mary, Star of the Sea Church and the
ladies auxiliary of Physicians Memorial Hospital. She lived in Indian Head from 1955 until
2000. She loved her grandchildren, traveling to Florida, and gardening. Born March 7,
1922, in Mechanicsville, she was the daughter of the late Joseph H. Richardson and the
late Pearl Quade Richardson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her
husband, Howard I. Jenkins; daughter, Sharon Jenkins; brother, Raymond Richardson; and
sister, Viola Kidwell. She is survived by her son, David Howard Jenkins; daughter-in-law;
Maureen Jenkins; grandchildren, Alison Lewis, Meghan Jenkins and U.S. Marine Corps Lance
Cpl. David Jenkins Jr.; and great-grandchildren, Olivia Lewis and Braeden Lewis.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. March 27 at
Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, La Plata. The Rev. Albert Tompa will officiate. Burial will
take place at 11 a.m. March 31 at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va. Memorial
contributions may be made to St. Mary, Star of the Sea Church, 30 Mattingly Ave., Indian
Head, MD 20640. Arrangements are being handled by Arehart-Echols Funeral Home.
