Mary Helen Grimes, 76 of Leonardtown, MD died on Saturday, May 22, 2004 at her residence.

Born on June 21, 1927 in Minneapoils, MN, she was the daughter of the late George and Teresa McGuire Zierhut.

Mrs. Grimes moved to St. Mary’s County in 1984 from Accokeek, MD. She was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church, Leonardtown, MD. She enjoyed playing bridge and golfing. She headed the ladies Golf Club at Breton Bay.

She is survived by her husband James Benjamin “Jimmy” Grimes, two sons, Gerald “Jerry” Grimes of Mechanicsville, VA and Gary G. Grimes of Richmond, VA, one brother, Donald Zierhart of Bedford, VA and four grandchildren also survive.

The family will recieve friends on Tuesday, May 25, 2004 from 2-4:00 pm and 6-8:00 pm at the Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A. 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at 10:00 am at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Leonardtown, MD. The Reverend John Mattingly will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
