Mary Margaret ”Teny Baby” Wood, 60
Mary Margaret ”Teny Baby” Wood, 60, of Clements, MD and formerly of Hollywood,, died July 2, 2004 in Clements, born January 13, 1944 in Bushwood to Charlotte Louise Cook and the late Robert Johnson Cook. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph Warren Wood whom she married December 28, 1963 in Sacred Heart Church in Bushwood and who preceded her in death on August 12, 1996. She was the devoted mother of Pam Major of Leonardtown, Kenny Wood of Hollywood, and Sandy Lyon of Clements. She is survived by her sisters Betty Stewart and Ann Marie Hall of Chaptico, Elaine Toney of Avenue, and Susie Shotwell of Laurel Grove. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren.
Mrs. Wood was a lifelong St. Mary’s County resident who graduated from Margaret Brent High School in 1963. She was a homemaker who loved to spend time with her grandchildren and play bingo.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 6, 2004 from 5 - 8 PM with prayers at 7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, July 7, 2004 at 10:00 AM in St. John’s Catholic Church, Hollywood with Father Ray Schmidt officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Hall, Sr., Paul Toney, Bob Stewart, Glenn Shotwell, John Hall, Jr., Robbie Toney, Bobby Stewart and Franklin Shotwell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dusty Gilbert and Randy Hill. Contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Mary’s, P.O. Box 625, Leonardtown, MD 20650 and/or the American Cancer Society, St. Mary’s County Unit, P.O. Box 1032, Lexington Park, MD 20653.
