A man was found dead by his daughter  surrounded by his pit bull dogs.
WHITE SANDS --- According to Calvert Sheriff Mike Evans, his deputies responded to a call for help with a man killed by pit bull dogs.  "We killed one dog and captured two others," Sheriff Evans told ST. MARY'S TODAY, "we don't know whether the dogs killed the man or if he died from other causes and the dogs then came up to his body, but we have secured the scene and are investigating."

Ford denies dealing drugs
Latest arrest of Wendell Ford included a trip to his home by a squad of cops, this time including feds...but again, no drugs were found....if Ford is such a big drug dealer, where were the drugs?  More coming up as U.S. Attorney's Office says they will only file their evidence in this case in court.  Is this latest arrest simply another police coverup or have the cops finally been able to put a case together....Ford says that his adding his mother to his house wasn't an attempt to shield his asset but simply due to his own poor credit and his inability to get a loan himself....

Wendell Ford, years ago after a raid on his home where police failed to find any drugs, one of many which have taken place over the years.  Maybe this time, Ford's luck has run out. Story ST. MARY'S TODAY photo

Passenger dies after red-light runner hit Honda

LEONARDTOWN --- On Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at 11:22 am, TFC P. Trossbach responded to a personal injury collision on Route 5 at Route 243 in Leonardtown.  Investigation revealed that a Jeep Cherokee, being driven by John Jackson Raley, 60, of Valley Lee, was traveling southbound on Route 5 when the driver failed to stop for a red light and struck the passenger side of a Honda Accord, being driven by Beverley Ann Yeatman, 69, of California (MD).  The Honda was crossing over Route 5 from Maypole Road to westbound Route 243.  The passenger of the Honda, Louise Bosse Yeatman, 90, of Leonardtown, received incapacitating injuries and was flown to Prince George’s Hospital by Maryland State Police Trooper 7.

On Wednesday, May 3, 2006, Ms. Louise Yeatman died as a result of her injuries.

Mr. Raley was charged at the scene of the collision with failure to stop at a red signal and negligent driving.  Alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be a contributing factor.  The State Attorney’s Office is currently reviewing the case.  Obituary for Louise Yeatman

Gun Hoax...but Sheriff Zylak won't admit it....
No guns found but Sheriff won't admit it was a hoax....we have metal detectors at courthouse, the time has come to install them at high schools to keep out guns...

The Tech Center, Leonardtown Middle School, the special school for criminal kids known as the Alternative Learning Center and Leonardtown High were all shut down over a report from two kids and a loopy adult about a gun the cops couldn't find.  Here students are shown waiting to board a school bus after the wasted day was over.  Right, fearful parents are held back from retrieving their kids.
