July 11 - It is with deep regret that the Dunkirk Volunteer Fire Dept. announces that on Sunday, Mike Dove, the father of member Amy Sears, and the father-in-law of member Mike Sears finally ended his unbelievable fight against the raging disease that he had been battling so hard for 4 years, which originally started out as esophageal cancer. Mike Dove, whom had been an Arlington, Va. firefighter for 28 years and retired in 1993 as a battalion chief, was truly an angel on earth. Words are not enough to even begin to describe what kind of person Mike was. To those of you who had the pleasure of meeting him, or just hearing of him, know exactly what we mean. We will greatly miss Mike, but we are at peace at the same time, knowing he is in a better place, and not suffering anymore.

Viewing will be held at Lee's Funeral Home in Owings, MD on Wednesday, July 14th. from 2pm-4pm, and from 6pm-8pm. The Funeral services will be held at Grace Brethren Church on Rt. 260 in Owings, Md. on Thursday, July 15th at 11am. The officers and members of the Dunkirk Volunteer Fire Dept. ask you to keep their family in your thought's and prayers during this tragic time.
