Motorist Wrecks Trying to Avoid Hitting Drunk Pedestrian
CHARLOTTE HALL --- On 10/16/04, at 11:04 p.m., Tpr. R. B.
Rezza responded to Route 5 in
Charlotte Hall for a reported motor vehicle accident. Further
investigation revealed that Gregory Dwight Butler, 33, of Charlotte Hall
walked out into the roadway in front of a vehicle causing the driver of
the vehicle to take evasive action and subsequently driving the vehicle
off the roadway to avoid hitting the pedestrian. As a result, Mr.
Butler was placed under arrest and charged with disorderly intoxication,
disorderly conduct and several traffic violations. Mr. Butler was
transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond
hearing.
