Maj. Milton Wolfman, US Army (Ret.),
84 of Hollywood, MD died on Monday, April 5, 2004 at his residence.
Born on July 5, 1919 in NY, NY, he was the son of the late Max and Clara Weimer Wolfman.
Mr. Wolfman served his country in the United States Army from 1941 until 1963. Serving
both in WWII and the Korean War. He served in the Northern France, Normandy, Central
Europe, Ardennes and the Rhineland Campaigns, receiving the Silver Star, European African
Middle Eastern Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Bronze Star Cluster, European African
Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, American Defense Medal, American Campaign Medal, World War
II Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal (Germany), Bronze Star Medal w/ First Oak Leaf
Cluster and the Purple Heart w/ First Oak Leaf along with numerous other decorations and
citations for his performance and outstanding service. His superior administrative and
executive skills contributed immeasurably to the successful operation of the United States
Army Garrison and its assigned and attached units. He consistently and successfully solved
the complex problems inherent in operating a heterogeneous command consisting of 3, 000
officers and enlisted personnel assigned to 15 units. As a result of his thorough planning
and supervision, he raised the standards of administration in the units directly
subordinate to his headquarters. His leadership in this capacity contributed greatly to
the successful and efficient operation of Garrison. In 1963 he retired from the United
States Army at the rank of Major. In 1980 Mr. Wolfman moved from Oxon Hill, MD to St.
Marys County where he enjoyed fishing and gardening. His favorite enjoyment was the
company of his family.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen Lucille Jenkins Talbert Wolfman whom he married on May
7, 1979 in Bryantown, MD, two daughters, Susan Wolfman of Fort Worth, TX, and Ursula
Sherree Wolfman of Hollywood, MD, two sons, Wally Talbert of Temple Hills, MD and Thomas
Talbert of Crampton, KY, one sister, Alberta Sherman of Norwich, CT, two brothers,
Emmanuel Wolfman of West Melbourne, FL, and Nathan Wolfman of Norwich, CT, 13
grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive. In addition to his parents he was
preceded in death by a son, George Talbert, two brothers, Harry Wolfman and Myer Wolfman,
two sisters, Beatrice Wolfman and Katherine Handleman.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 17, 2004 from 4:00 until 6:00 pm at the
Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A. 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD. A Memorial Service
will be held at 5:00 pm in the Brinsfield Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be private.
