You Booze, You Lose
WALDORF -- On Oct. 26 at 11:30 p.m., Cpl. J. Carlson conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding on Crain Highway at St. Patricks Drive in Waldorf. Investigation revealed the driver, Kevin Miller Heslop, 40, of Hyattsville, Md., was allegedly intoxicated. Heslop was charged with Driving Under the Influence and Driving While Impaired and is being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner. Cpl. J. Carlson investigated.

WALDORF --- Sometime between 6 a.m. on Oct. 24 and 9 p.m. on Oct. 26, suspect(s) forced entry into a residence in the 2400 block of Pinefield Road in Waldorf, stole jewelry and fled the scene. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriffs Office at 301-932-7777. Officer S. Kirsch is investigating.
Untalented Burglars
INDIAN HEAD --- Sometime between 5:30 p.m. and 6:10 p.m. on Oct. 26, suspect(s) attempted to force entry to a residence in the 10 block of Riverside Run Drive in Indian Head. The suspect(s) did not succeed and fled the scene. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriffs Office at 301-743-2222. Officer R. Cadrette is investigating.

INDIAN HEAD --- On Oct. 14 at 12:45 p.m. Officer R. Glover was conducting an investigation on Travers Road in Indian Head when he located Jonathan David Hagens, 19, of Indian Head, who was wanted in Charles County for possession of marijuana. Officer Glover arrested Hagens and a subsequent search revealed Hagens was in possession of marijuana. Hagens was charged with Possession of Marijuana and served the warrant. He is being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner. Officer R. Glover is investigating.
Roadside MayhemOAKVILLE -- On 10/17/04, at 10:53 a.m., TFC S. M. Van Bennekum was flagged down by a citizen at Friendship School Road in Hollywood. The citizen advised that his vehicle had become disabled on Route 235 in Hollywood the night before and that he had left the vehicle on the shoulder until he could return the next morning. When the victim returned, he had discovered unknown suspect(s) had damaged his vehicle. The damage is estimated at $700. This investigation is continuing.
No Pets, No PoolMECHANICSVILLE --- On 10/17/04, at 5:00 p.m., TFC A. J. Malaspina served an arrest warrant on Richard Larry Bassford, 30, of Mechanicsville for violation of a protective order. Bassford was transported to the St. Marys County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
Burglars Make Touchdown at StoreOn 10/19/04, at 6:37 a.m., Tpr. F. V. Dolinger responded to the business, St. Marys Sports, located in Mechanicsville for a reported burglary. Unknown suspect(s) gained entry to the business by throwing a rock through the front glass door and removing property. The total value of loss is estimated at $1840. This investigation is continuing.
Mud Wrestling Next?LEXINGTON PARK --- On 10/22/04, at 3:30 p.m., TFC J. L. Linger responded to Valley Court in Lexington Park for a reported unwanted guest. TFC Linger arrived to witness two females in a physical altercation. Sheryl Christine Price, 39, of Lexington Park was placed under arrest and charged with 2nd degree assault on a 22 year old female. Ms. Price was taken to the St. Marys County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
Wheel Barrel PolkaLEONARDTOWN --- On 10/22/04, at 5:04 p.m., Tpr. M. R. Grimes responded to Fairgrounds Road in Leonardtown for a reported theft. The victim advised an unknown suspect removed a green wheel barrel from the victims front yard. Witnesses advised a van pulled up in front of the residence and the passenger removed the wheel barrel from the yard and placed it into the van. The van fled the area. The van is described as a green Ford van. The total loss is $40. This investigation is continuing.
Man Charged with Beating WomanOn 10/23/04, at 5:05 p.m., Tpr. M. L. Davis served a criminal summons on Dante Shawron Clayton, 19, of Lexington Park for 2nd degree assault. Clayton is accused of assaulting a 19 female at a residence on Indian Way in Lexington Park on 8/12/04.
Woman Charged with Beating ManHOLLYWOOD --- On 10/24/04, at 8:58 p.m., Tpr. M. L. Davis served a criminal summons on Tiffany Lynn Hancock, 21, of Hollywood for 2nd degree assault. Ms. Hancock is accused of assaulting a 26 year old male at a residence on Seven Hope Road in Hollywood on 9/8/04.
Youth Charged with Smacking KidCLEMENTS --- On 10/25/04, at 4:15 p.m., TFC W. P. Goldston responded to a residence on Mount Chance Court in Clements for a reported assault. A 17 year old female was placed under arrest and charged with 2nd degree assault on a 9 year old male. The juvenile was processed and released to a parent pending action by juvenile authorities.
Pontiac Problem; Local Butt Heads Go for JoyrideMECHANICSVILLE --- On 10/26/04, at 2:07 a.m., TFC S. M. Van Bennekum responded to a residence on Vincent Circle in Mechanicsville for a reported stolen vehicle. The victim advised that he was awaken to a noise and witnessed unknown suspect(s) driving away in his 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix. The vehicle was located less than one mile from the location of the theft with no damage to the vehicle. The investigation is continuing.
Black Bandit Strikes AgainLEXINGTON PARK --- ( Oct. 29) A black man dressed all in black held up the Food Lion in Lexington Park on Friday evening and fled into the nearby trailer park with police seeking his trail.
