GOP candidate's statement about his degree doesn't match college records
Update:  Since this story was first published by ST. MARY'S TODAY on Oct. 25th, the information included in the biography of Tommy McKay on the county's official website has been changed to delete any reference to his having earned a degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland.  Fortunately, this information is still available in our story.
Update: McKay blames county employee for mess

Hambone!  Show us your poll!
With spending by Tommy McKay likely surpassing a half million bucks, the GOP candidate for State Senate has undoubtedly blown about $30,000 on a poll but he is sitting on the results.  Now there can only be one reason McKay won't release the results of the poll, he is seriously behind.  That would explain his more negative tone he has set in the past few weeks.  After all, with nearly a half million bucks spent and still trailing his opponent, Sen. Roy Dyson, McKay couldn't possibly be in a good mood.  Will McKay and his daddy be able to buy an election in 2006?  Daddy tried to buy it in 1994, spending $50,000 to Dyson's $6,000.  Retail purchase of a seat in the state senate didn't work for McKay that year, will it work now?  Only The Shadow knows for sure.

Firebug continues to set off Accokeek blazes
Was this arsonist connected to the Hunters Brooke fires but not charged?  More than a dozen fires were set near the Accokeek Vol. Fire Dept.  Why do the volunteer fire departments continue to be haunted by firebugs?  This region could not exist without our wonderful volunteers, but each year another round of youthful firebugs set fires that they can then run out on the back of fire trucks to extinguish....should psychological testing be mandatory
for membership in a volunteer fire department?

Are you ready for this?   The Bozo Pilots who dumped a U S Navy helicopter upside down at the St. Mary's Fairgrounds were actually students at the U. S. Navy Test Pilot School....what a helluva note, these cats who dumped this bird upside down are supposed to be the best and the brightest, what they need is to be sent to driver's ed school with the local high school students....

While this crew wasn't hurt, crashes of other Navy planes and choppers from Pax River have often proved fatal to the crew such as this crash from 1981.

The County Times is promised before the election....otherwise known as the Hambone Gazette Manning McKay announced at a chamber of commerce meeting that it will be on newsstands just in time for Tommy's big day, election day, when he will begin his forward march to the Governor's Mansion.  ST. MARY'S TODAY has received an advance copy of the new rag's front page and will be included in this week's print edition....the McKay's wanted to bring out their new newspaper earlier but sources report that they were making too much money printing twenty dollar bills...the paper will appear on Nov. 2nd and everyone is waiting with baited breath to find out if the Hambone Gazette will endorse the election of Tommy McKay, the $2 million man.
