Old Guy Charged with Dealing Cocaine

LEONARDTOWN --- On 9/11/04, at 5:45 p.m., Tpr. P. A. Trossbach initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on Route 234 in Leonardtown. A search incident to probable cause revealed suspected cocaine and Oxycodone pills on the driver. Bobby G. Woods, 66 years, of Leonardtown was arrested and charged with possession of CDS with intent to distribute. He was incarcerated in the Detention Center pending a bond hearing.

CALIFORNIA --- Between 9/2/04, at 8:00 p.m. and 9/13/04, at 8:30 a.m., unknown suspect(s) removed a trailer from the Wildewood Shopping Center on Route 235 in California. The trailer owned by Sears is valued at $1,500. TFC S. M. Van Bennekum is conducting this investigation.

Double Trouble for Telephone Talkers

MECHANICSVILLE --- In September 2004, a criminal summons for telephone misuse was served on Laura A. Marini, 23 years and Patricia A. Marini, 43 years, both of Mechanicsville. Laura Marini and Patricia Marini are accused of making unwanted telephone calls to a residence on Elegant Court in Lexington Park between 7/26/04 and 7/28/04. Tpr. M. W. Laney conducted this investigation.

Cops Surround House, Capture Suspect
with K-9 Dog

HOLLYWOOD — Deputy Katherine Dassing reports that St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a 911 call for a reported Strong Arm Robbery at a Mechanicsville establishment.

Upon arrival Deputies located a undisclosed female victim suffering from a back injury. The victim refused medical attention and gave a description of the suspect and the vehicle he was operating. The vehicle was discovered at a residence in the Hollywood area and the home was surrounded. Deputies were assisted by a Maryland State Trooper and attempts to contact the occupants yielded negative results. A short time later the suspect exited the residence and confronted Officers which led to a struggle.

Officers were able to place the suspect in custody by utilizing Sheriff’s Office K-9 Roni. As the investigation continued it led to the arrest of the Suspect that was apprehended. Jason Lawrence Yeatts, 24, of Hollywood was charged with possession of cocaine, possession marijuana, two counts of possession of paraphernalia, Strong Arm Robbery, Assault Second Degree, Theft Under $500.00 and Property Destruction. A second subject, a 19 year old female, was detained and later released and could face charges pending a State’s Attorney’s Office review. Yeatts is currently being held on $15,000.00 bond.

Mary Beth’s Bad Breath

GREAT MILLS --- September 20, 2004 at approximately 11:37 a. m., Dep. Michael R. Worry stopped a Toyota Corolla for traffic violations on Three Notch Rd., South of Great Mills Rd. The operator, identified as Mary Beth Krier had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath. After field sobriety tests she was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. She was released pending a preliminary hearing in District Court.
