Patricia Gragan Dixon, 79, of Mechanicsville, MD, died on March 18, 2005 at her residence.

Born on October 29, 1925 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Ruth Brown Gragan. Mrs. Dixon was a registered nurse. She had worked at St. Mary’s Hospital and worked as a nurse for Dr. Guyther. She worked for the St. Mary’s County Health Department and was a family nurse after her retirement from the health department.

Mrs. Dixon is survived a daughter, Deborah Ann Meagher of Mechanicsville, MD, a granddaughter, Sarah Kathleen Meagher, and two brothers, David Edward Gragan of Pittsburgh, PA and Philip Arthur Gragan of Washington, DC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Frank Dixon in 1995, and a sister, Helen Reta Gragan.

The family received friends on Monday, March 21, 2005 in the Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A. in Leonardtown, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, March 22, 2005 in St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Hollywood, MD. The Reverend Ray Schmidt was the celebrant. Interment followed in the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery, Mechanicsville, MD.

Serving as pallbearers were David Gragan, Michael Gragan, Stephen Gragan, Raymond Dixon, James Dixon and Steve Rodine.
