Boy Killed After Being Thrown From Truck When Dad Failed to Yield
WALDORF --- 03/27/04 6:15 p.m.  A 1993 GMC Suburban being operated by John Joseph Foster Sr., 48 years, of La Plata, was traveling
eastbound on Billingsley Road when he attempted to make a left turn onto MD Rt. 5.   The Foster vehicle failed to yield to oncoming traffic and
was struck by a 1999 Dodge Avenger being operated by Donald Matthew Bryant, 27 years, of Waldorf.  The Foster vehicle overturned and a
passenger in the vehicle, Kevin Anthony Foster, 15 years, of La Plata, was ejected from the vehicle.  The Bryant vehicle continued and struck a
2001 Nissan Frontier being operated by William MacDonald Currie, 49 years, of Waldorf, that was stopped at the intersection waiting to make
a left turn from northbound MD Rt. 5 onto Billingsley Road.  Kevin was pronounce dead on the scene.  Mr. Foster, and another passenger in his vehicle, John Joseph Foster Jr., 21 years, of La Plata, received incapacitating injuries.  Mr. Foster Sr. was flown to Prince George's
Shock Trauma by Maryland State Police Trooper 7 helicopter.  Mr. Foster Jr. was flown to Prince George's Shock Trauma by Park Police Eagle 1 helicopter.  Mr. Bryant and Mr. Currie received incapacitating injuries and were transported to Civista Medical Center by ambulance.  This investigation is being conducted by Trooper I. Harrison.


Drunken Mama Had Infant in Car With Her; Charged with DWI & Drugs

LEXINGTON PARK --- Off duty St. Mary's Sheriff's Deputy Edward B. Evans received information from a citizen in
regards to a possible drunk in the area of California/Lexington Park, reports Sgt. Daniel Alioto.
The vehicle was located and found to be operated by Glinda Melody Williamson. She was in the presence of her 19 month old child.
Sgt. Daniel D. Alioto, an officer who was on duty,  had the perform a battery of roadside tests of which she failed. Williamson was observed trying to
hide an object that was found to be a quantity of marijuana. Wiliamson was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and possession of
marijuana, according to police. The infant was transported by deputies to a nearby residence and was turned over to his father. Williamson was returning from
a trip from Virginia Beach, Virginia.
