Police Overreaction Becoming Habitual

To the Editor;

St. Mary's County has a sordid history of police overreaction when it comes to St. Mary’s College of Maryland, including the “riots” that officers instigated on campus a few years ago. While “better safe than sorry” is usually a good rule of thumb, I hope the bored hordes of officials who abandoned their posts to investigate this most recent non-incident have learned a valuable lesson – a dick on patrol isn’t worth two in a box.
