Robert Lee Sorrells, Sr., 72 of Clinton, MD, formerly of West Virginia, died on November 25, 2004 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Leonardtown, MD.

Born on March 7, 1932 in Stanaford, West Virginia, he was the son of the late James Wyatt and Illa Mae Mason Sorrells. He retired from Safeway as a Truck driver in 1983. Graduated from Sophia West Virginia High School. His enjoyments were hunting and fishing. He loved to hunt fox, coon, rabbit, and quail.

Survived by his wife, Phyllis Ann Ramsey Sorrells, whom he married in 1951 in Pemberton, WV, children, Stephanie Bedwell and Bob Sorrells, both of Waldorf, MD, Tommy Sorrells of Henderson, NC, Carol Ann Brennan of Mechanicsville, MD, and Rick Sorrells of Leonardtown, MD, sister, Ann Scarbro of Martinsburg, WV, brother, Roger Lee Sorrells of Damascus, MD. Thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren also survive him. A brother, James Wyant Sorrells, predeceases him.

Family received friends on Monday, November 29, 2004 from 6-8PM with Funeral Services at 7:30PM at The Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd. Charlotte Hall, MD with Pastor Jeff Thornley to officiate. Interment private.
