Sherman Wilson “Buddy” Joy. Jr., 65, of Hollywood, MD, died on Monday, June 7, 2004 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Leonardtown, MD.

Born on November 2, 1938 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Norma Todd Joy and Sherman Wilson Joy, Sr. Buddy worked for the US Government as a cabinetmaker and has been retired for over 15 years.. He was a member of the Hollywood Church of the Nazarene, coached in the Women’s Softball League and was inducted in the Softball Hall of Fame.

He is survived by his wife, Agnes Cecilia Abell Joy, whom he married on June 7, 1958 in Hollywood, MD, two daughters, Pam Bohmann, Dawn Tennyson, two sons, Sherman “Bubby” Joy, III and Bobby Joy all of Hollywood, MD, nine grandchildren, and two sisters, Florence Lister of Dunkirk, MD and Myrna Beal of Ellicott City, MD.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 9, 2004 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A. in Leonardtown, MD with prayers at 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Service will conducted on Thursday, June 10, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hollywood Church of the Nazarene. The Reverend Doctor Ira Fowler will conduct the service. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD.

Serving as pallbearers will be Glenn Bohmann, Robbie Tennyson, Chad Joy, Joseph Pilkerton, Josh Bohmann, Tanor Joy, Joseph Hayden, Jr. and Paul Lister. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
