 Short comings

WALDORF — On May 31 at 12:10 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the Extra Mart in the 2100 block of Crain Highway in Waldorf for the report of indecent exposure. Investigation revealed a suspect entered the store, approached the sales clerk, a 25-year-old Waldorf woman, and exposed himself. He fled the store before police arrived. The suspect is described as a black male in his early twenties, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, and was wearing blue jeans and a red, blue and gray sweatshirt. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff’s Office at 301-932-7777. Officer C. Gregory is investigating.

Firebugs Ignited Shed

WALDORF — On May 30 at 12:52 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to Eva Turner Elementary School in the 1000 block of Bannister Circle in Waldorf for the burglary report. Investigation revealed the Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department responded to that location for a small brush fire. Upon arrival, firefighters located a small fire and found a shed at the school had been broken into. They observed five juveniles run from the area, at which time they notified the Sheriff’s Office. Officers arrived and learned the suspects forced entry into the shed between 12:30 a.m. and 12:45 a.m. . No property was stolen. Slumping Largen a Crack Driver

HUGHESVILLE — On May 29 at 1:55 p.m., Officer E. Baker responded to the 6200 block of Brandywine Road in Hughesville for the citizen’s report of a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, Officer Baker found the driver, Ronnie Lee Largen Jr., 21, of Brandywine, slumped over the steering wheel of the vehicle. Investigation revealed Largen was allegedly under the influence of a drug. Further investigation revealed he was also allegedly in possession of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia. Largen was charged with Driving Under the Influence of a Drug, Driving While Impaired by a Drug, Possession of Crack Cocaine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He is being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.

Booze Won't Help Driving

LA PLATA — On May 28 at 12:10 p.m., a Chevrolet 1500 truck driven by James Marvin Williams, 48, of White Plains, was traveling southbound on Fairgrounds Road in La Plata when the vehicle left the roadway, crossed the center line and subsequently struck a telephone pole. Williams sustained minor injuries and refused medical treatment. Investigation revealed he was allegedly intoxicated and his license was suspended and revoked. Williams was charged with Driving Under the Influence, Failure to Driver Right of Center, Driving While Suspended, Driving While Revoked and Driving Without a License. Cpl. J. Harman investigated.

WALDORF — On May 27 at 1:52 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to You C Carry out in the 2200 block of Crain Highway for the intrusion alarm. Investigation revealed suspect(s) forced entry through a door, stole money and fled the scene. WALDORF — Sometime between 5 p.m. on May 26 and 7 a.m. on May 27, suspect(s) stole building material from a home under construction in the 2300 block of Aubrey Manor Court in Waldorf. Good Drugs Make for Good Driver

LA PLATA — On May 26 at 9:30 a.m., Officer J. Crizer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 6400 block of Hawkins Gate Road in La Plata for not displaying a registration plate. Investigation revealed the driver, Tammy Sue Kline, 38, of Waldorf, allegedly had a suspended license and the vehicle was unregistered and uninsured. Further investigation revealed Kline and the passenger, Richard Florian Maisonneuve, 33, of Waldorf, were in possession of oxycodine and drug paraphernalia. Kline was charged with Driving While Suspended, Possession of Oxycodine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Maisonneuve was charged with Possession of Oxycodine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Kline and Maisonneuve were transported to the Charles County Detention Center and released by a District Court Commissioner on personal recognizance.

INDIAN HEAD — Sometime between 3 p.m. on May 23 and 7 p.m. on May 25, suspect(s) wrote "KKK" on an outside wall of Cornerstone Church in the 4800 block of Indian Head Highway in Indian Head. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff’s Office at 301-743-2222. Officer J. Richards is investigating.

Man Facing Eviction Found New Home at Jail

WALDORF — On May 24 at 9:15 a.m., Officer Beall responded to a residence in the 2700 block of Tyburn Oaks Court in Waldorf to serve a writ of possession eviction. When Officer Beall attempted to serve the eviction, the occupant, Marvin Marrus Fields, 32, of Waldorf, allegedly became disorderly. Fields allegedly assaulted Officer Beall and resisted arrest. Two men from the eviction crew assisted Officer Beall and helped subdue Fields, who was eventually placed under arrest by Officer Beall. Fields was charged with Second Degree Assault, Resisting Arrest and Destruction of Property and is being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.

Stupid Kid Tricks

WALDORF — On May 17 at approximately 3:30 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the WaWa in the 11500 block of Berry Road in Waldorf for the report of a stolen vehicle in the area. When officers located the vehicle in the parking lot, the driver and two passengers fled the scene.

The driver, a 17-year-old Bryans Road boy, was located on Marsh Hawk Drive shortly thereafter when he approached an officer in an unmarked Charles County Sheriff’s Office vehicle.

He was charged with Theft More Than $500, Motor Vehicle Theft, Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicle-Rogue and Vagabond, Malicious Destruction of Property More Than $500, Driving Without a License and Attempting to Elude a Uniformed Police Officer by Fleeing on Foot and transported to the Cheltenham Youth Facility.

Both passengers were located shortly after fleeing in the area of near-by Weymouth Court. Both passengers, two Bryans Road boys ages 15 and 16, were charged with Motor Vehicle Theft, Theft More Than $500, Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicle-Rouge and Vagabond, Malicious Destruction of Property More Than $500 and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.

The 15-year-old was transported to the Cheltenham Youth Facility and the 16-year-old was released to a parent. The vehicle, a 1991 Dodge Shadow, had been reported stolen on May 16 through the Charles County Sheriff’s Office.
While responding to this call, a Charles County Detention Center Corrections Officer observed a 1991 Plymouth Acclaim traveling on Millbrook Drive. The vehicle hit a curb and the driver had fled the scene.
Investigation revealed the vehicle was reported stolen on May 14 through the La Plata Town Police. Further investigation revealed the driver who fled was a 15-year-old Bryans Road boy. The boy was charged on May 23 with Motor Vehicle Theft, Theft More Than $4500, Breaking and Entering-Rogue and Vagabond, Destruction of Property and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.
