Stanley Lee Cross, 83 of Hughesville, MD died on July 22, 2004 at Calvert Memorial Hospital, Prince Frederick, Maryland.

Born on February 17, 1921 in Aquasco, MD, he was the son of the late Jennings Columbus Cross, Sr. and Emma Mae Canter Cross. He worked for Taylor Electric Company as a Heating and Air Conditioning Installer. Prior he served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion in Hughesville. Some of his enjoyments included farming, and gardening. He loved to plant a big garden with lots of tomato plants.

He was husband of the late, Margaret Eleanor Bowles Cross. Survived by daughter, Margaret Anne Fraser and son, Joseph Stanley Cross, both of Hughesville, MD, brothers, Jennings C. Cross, Jr., and B. Ralph Cross, sisters, Faye C. Oliver, M. Lorraine Cross, and M. Virginia Clodfelter. Grandchildren, Robert Duane Kreider, II and Kevin Scott Cross and great-grandchildren, Emily Morgan Cross and Caleb Joseph Noah Cross also survive him.

Family received friends on Sunday, July 25, 2004 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at The Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD. Prayers were recited at 7:30PM. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, July 26, 2004 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bryantown, MD. Father Joseph Kleinstuber officiated. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
