This Flatfoot Fast Enough to Catch Kid; Found Crack in Sock
LEXINGTON PARK --- On 3/14/05, at 6:45 p.m., Maryland State Police Leonardtown
Barracks reports that TFC T. H. Quade initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle at
Route 246, west of Prather Drive in Lexington Park for a traffic violation. The
driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit, the
suspect was apprehended. A 16 year old male from Leonardtown was placed under
arrest and charged with fleeing and eluding a uniformed officer. A search
incident to arrest revealed suspected marijuana in the vehicle. The juvenile
was transported to the Leonardtown Barrack for processing. A secondary search
revealed suspected crack cocaine in the juvenile's sock. The juvenile was
additionally charged with possession of crack cocaine and possession of
marijuana. The juvenile was released to a parent pending action by juvenile
authorities.
For Whom the Bell Tulls
LEONARDTOWN --- According to State Police on 3/19/05, at 10:48 a.m., Tpr.
L. N. Nims initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on Court House Drive in
Leonardtown for a seatbelt violation. Upon contact with the driver, a strong
odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. A probable cause search
revealed suspected marijuana in the vehicle. Sean Michael Tull, 32, of
Leonardtown was placed under arrest and charged with possession of marijuana and
possession of CDS paraphernalia. Tull was transported to the St. Mary's County
Detention Center pending a bond review.
Suspected Crackhead Had No Driver's License;
Charged with Failing to Pay for Gas But He Is A Daddy!
HOLLYWOOD --- This report from the Leonardtown Barracks of the Maryland State
Police notes that on 3/24/05, at 10:31 a.m., TFC M. L. Davis initiated a traffic
stop on a vehicle on Route 235, north of Route 245, in Hollywood. The St.
Mary's County Emergency Communications Center broadcast a lookout for this
vehicle in reference to a failure to pay for gas at the Wawa in California. A
computer check of the driver, Richard Leon Reed, Sr., 25, of Great Mills
revealed Reed's license was suspended. Reed was placed under arrest for
driving while suspended. A search incident to arrest revealed suspected crack
cocaine in the vehicle. Reed was additionally charged with possession of crack
cocaine and a criminal citation for theft of the gas valued at $15. Reed was
transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.
Man Charged with Beating Woman
MECHANICSVILLE --- State Police say that on 3/24/05, at 1:44 p.m., Cpl.
R. W. Redmond responded to a residence on Vincent Circle in Mechanicsville for
the reported disturbance. Louis Christian Zwick, Jr., 48, of Mechanicsville was
placed under arrest and charged with 2nd degree assault on a 50 year old female
at the residence. Zwick was transported to the St. Mary's County
Detention Center pending a bond review.
Woman Charged With Theft
MECHANICSVILLE --- State Police report that on 3/25/05, at 10:15 a.m., Tpr. L. N
. Nims served an arrest warrant on Roxanne Battle, 39, of Mechanicsville for
theft under $500. Between 3/15/05 and 3/17/05, Ms. Battle is accused of the
theft of funds from a bank account without permission. Battle was transported
to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.
Reagan Sent to Slammer Under Arrest for Cocaine
Possession
LEXINGTON PARK --- When others were out preparing for the Easter Bunny to
hop down the bunny trail, a local man was noted by a state trooper to not be
wearing his seatbelt. Police say that on 3/26/05, at 1:02 p.m., TFC J. L.
Linger initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on Route 235 at Rue Purchase Road
in Lexington Park for a seatbelt violation. A computer check of the driver, Roy
Quentin Reagan, 33, of Leonardtown revealed Reagan's driver's license was
suspended. Reagan was placed under arrest for driving while suspended. A
search incident to arrest revealed suspected cocaine in the ashtray of the
vehicle. Reagan was additionally charged with possession of cocaine and
possession of CDS paraphernalia. Reagan was transported to the St. Mary's
County Detention Center pending a bond review.
