This Republican is Voting for Roy Dyson
To the Editor:
I am a Reagan Republican who proudly voted for George W. Bush in 2004 and would
do so again if I could.
That being said, I am strongly supportive of my state Senator Roy Dyson. Members
of my family and I all intend to cast a proud vote for him in this upcoming
election. And I intend to vote for Governor Ehrlich. Despite the fact that
Senator Dyson and Governor Ehrlich do not see eye-to-eye on everything, Senator
Dyson still has my strong vote because of his outstanding constituent services
and because he is a great public servant.
His opponent is nothing, but a self-promoting “politician” who is only concerned
about the next office he intends to seek. Unlike the statesmanlike gentlemanly
Senator Dyson, Thomas McKay has sought public office for his own
self-glorification and self-gain.
Although I’ve voted Republican all my life, I’ve always crossed party lines for
Roy whether it was for State Delegate, U.S. Congress and now State Senator. I
vote for Roy because he is the real man of the people. He cares deeply about
Southern Maryland and has a record to prove it.
His opponent, Tommy McKay is only out for Tommy McKay.
No sooner did Mr. McKay run for St. Mary’s County Commissioner, then did he
decide to run for State Senator. Ask yourself, what has Mr. McKay done for
Southern Maryland? Before he ran for county commissioner in St. Mary’s County,
Tommy McKay never came around my part of the woods- Senator Dyson sure has,
plenty of times.
Tommy McKay never shook my hand whenever I saw him at any of his stores before
he decided to go into politics. Tommy McKay doesn’t care about the Maryland
Senate just as he didn’t care for his useless tenure on the St. Mary’s
Commissioners’ board in which his legacy will be to have given a green light to
developers to pave over Southern Maryland.
I know how Tommy McKay will run this campaign. He will run one filled with
distortion of Roy’s record. He will slide into the gutter to besmirch Roy’s good
name. He will stop at nothing to use his well-financed developers’ money and his
rich family’s money to try to destroy the reputation of someone who loves and
cares about District 29 which includes my hometown, Roy’s hometown of St. Mary’s
County and his “second home” Calvert County. He cares equally about all of them.
Don’t buy into Tommy McKay’s gutter tactics. Please vote a far, far better
candidate in Roy Dyson!
