This Travis Was a Twit: Rolling narcotics
market spills when vehicle overturned
HUGHESVILLE --- Maryland State Police report that on 09/11/04
at 4:40 a.m. TFC L. Hewitt responded to a wreck where the vehicle had overturned in
the woods on MD Rt. 231, west of Brookwood Place. Upon contact with the driver,
Travis Wayne Roberts, 20, of La Plata, the odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from
his breath. A baggie containing small pink pills (suspected steroids) and syringes
were observed in the vehicle. A search of the immediate area revealed a bag with
more syringes and a bottle of Decabol (liquid steroids) beside the vehicle. Mr.
Roberts was arrested and charged with possession of Nandrolone (steroids), possession of
Decabol (liquid steroids), possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving under the
influence. He was also cited with several traffic citations. Mr. Roberts was
incarcerated in the Charles County Detention Center pending a bond review.
