Thomas Clyde Bayne, 78, of Ridge, MD died on Saturday, May 8, 2004 at his residence.

Born on November 24, 1925 in Scotland, MD he was the son of the late George Clyde and Nita Olivia Ridgell Bayne.

Mr. Bayne attended the St. Michael’s School in Ridge, MD. He served his country in the United States Army from 1944 until 1946, receiving an honorable discharge. Upon his release from the Army, he moved to Baltimore, MD where he worked for 37 years for the Baltimore City Fire Department as a firefighter. In 1986 he moved back to St. Mary’s County where he resided until his death. He was a member of the St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Ridge, MD, a life member of the VFW Post # 6506 and the American Legion Post # 297.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Jean Scarbro Bayne, three children, Thomas F. Bayne of Ridge, MD, Theresa A. Fenhagen, of Lexington Park, MD and Barbara J. Winters, of Ridge, MD, two sisters, Ann B. Robrecht of Ridge, MD and Mary P. Walters of Albany, NY, seven grandchildren, Crystal M. Joseph, Amanda E. Joseph, Mary P. Joseph, Philip J. Bayne, Bradley T. Bayne, Tara A. Fenhagen and Mary N. Peale. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Margaret A. Cooper and a brother Joseph W. Bayne.

Family will receive friends on Monday, May 10, 2004 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Ridge, MD. Prayers will be recited at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at 11:00 am. The Reverend Maurice O’Connell will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers for Mr. Bayne will be James Dickens, Robert Bayne, Robert Joseph, Jimmy Joy, Mike Hammett and Francis Reisler.
