THOMAS PAUL MARZILLI
US Navy Veteran
Thomas Paul Marzilli was born in Worcester, MA on January 22, 1956. He is the son of Antoinetti (Mazzone) Palermo and stepfather of, Samuel Palermo and the late Thomas Paul Marzilli, Sr.
Tom attended High School at St. Johns in Shrewsbury, MA playing football and baseball. He continued his education at Erckerd College where he played baseball, his first love. He played summer ball in the Cape Cod League playing for Yarmouth-Dennis. Tom received his MA in criminal justice at East Carolina University.
Tom went to work for the Naval Criminal Investigative Service in July 1987 where the job was never work, it was an adventure taking he and his family around the world. He served his country proudly during the 1990 Gulf aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt and in the Albania Kosovo Conflict in 1999.
While overseas, Tom served as the Supervisory Special Agent in charge of Operations for England and Western Europe. Upon returning to the U.S. he rose to the level of Deputy Director of the Multiple Threat Alert Center in Washington, D.C.
Tom was married to Karen (Kietzman) Marzilli on July 14, 1984. He and Karen were blessed with three wonderful children, Thomas, Anthony and Marisa of the home. Tom faithfully and lovingly coached his children from T-ball to the present as assistant coach of the Calvert American Legion instilling in them the power and strength and discipline of team work.
Tom leaves a large and wonderful family. His sister Michele (Marzilli) Werme and brother-in-law, James Werme, his brother Anthony Marzilli and sister-in-law Elaine (Salerno) Marzilli, his brother Joseph and sister-in-law Peggy (Trautman) Marzilli, step-brother Joseph Palermo and step-sister Elaine (Palermo) Hamel.
Tom leaves his nephews, Tom Werme and wife Kristin (Varin) Werme, James Werme, Thomas Marzilli, Christopher Marzilli, Joseph Marzilli and his nieces Stacey Lynn Marzilli and Meredith Marzilli. Tom also leaves his great nephew Cameron Werme and great niece Olivia Werme.
Tom also leaves his mother-in-law Mary Buckmaster Kietzman, brother-in-law Douglas Kietzman and nephew Christpher Kietzman of Swansboro, North Carolina.
