Three Dead in Murder Suicide

HERMANVILLE ---  Maryland State Police Cpl. Roger Redmond reports that on Tuesday, November 23, 2004, at 5:38 p.m. St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 48219 Pickett’s Harbor Court, Hermanville, for the reported homicide. Detectives from the St. Mary’s Bureau of Criminal Investigations responded and assumed the investigation.

The investigation revealed that George Yousinger Richardson Jr., a 43 year old resident of California, MD shot and killed his former girlfriend, Suzanne Lee Combs, 35, in her home in the Cedar Cove subdivision just south of the Patuxent River Naval Air Station near Lexington Park.  Police say that Richardson then fatally shot himself inside the residence. Ms. Combs was reportedly nine months pregnant at the time of her death.

This investigation is continuing by Detectives from the St. Mary’s Bureau of Criminal Investigations, a joint investigation team composed of the State Police and the St. Mary's Sheriff's Department.
