Toys for Injured Firefighter's Children

Largo, MD - Volunteer firefighters are collecting new and unwrapped toys for the children of injured co-worker Joe Johnson who remains in critical condition at Washington Hospital Center.  Volunteer Captain Johnson has one daughter who is 4 years old and two sons ages 8 and 10.

Toys can be dropped off at the Chapel Oaks Volunteer Fire/EMS Station located at 5544 Sheriff Road, Fairmount Heights, MD.  Toys should be dropped off no later than Wednesday, December 22, 2004.

Financial contributions can be sent to the Seat Pleasant Volunteer Fire Company, 6305 Addison Road, Seat Pleasant, MD, 20743.  Please make checks out to the Seat Pleasant Volunteer Fire Company and designate Joe Johnson Fund in the memo section.

Volunteer Captain Johnson was critically injured during a house fire on December 12, 2004, when he ran out of air and was rescued by fellow firefighters.  He has remained in critical condition since then at the Burn Center at Washington Hospital Center.
