Two Bodies Found in River
PORT TOBACCO --- Two men missing since last Tuesday were found when their bodies were discovered in the Port Tobacco River on Thursday.
The men, identified as William Lee Knipher, 24, and Joseph Floyd, 38, both of Port Tobacco, were first reported missing on April 27 at 6:30 pm.  The small 15' boat the men had left the Port Tobacco campgrounds washed up along the shore near Lancaster Farm Road. A search of the area by sea and air did not discover the missing men earlier in the week. When the first body was found, DNR Natural Resources Police began a new search and discovered the second body on the shore about 300 yards from the first one. The Charles County Sheriff's Department reports that the deaths are under investigation and that the bodies were taken to the State Medical Examiner's Office for autopsies.
