Update Masked Gunman Robs Chevy Chase Bank
Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division - Robbery Section are releasing photos of the suspect from the robbery of the Chevy Chase Bank in the Kentland’s Shopping Center in Gaithersburg.
On Thursday, October 21 at 6:55 p.m., the robber entered the bank wearing a black ski mask and brandishing a black handgun. He ordered everyone to the ground and had an employee of the bank fill a bag with money from the vault. The robber was last seen running out the back door of the bank towards the shopping center.
Witnesses describe the robber as a black male in his twenties, 5’4” tall, wearing a white hooded-sweatshirt, black pants, t-shirt and boots.
Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division – Robbery Section investigators at 240-773-5100. Those wishing to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County at 1-800-673-2777. Crime Solvers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information provided to them that leads to the arrest and/or indictment of the person responsible for this felony crime.
