St. Mary's County Republican leaders report that numerous election signs for the Bush-Cheney campaign have been torn down, one of them a mere six hours after it was erected on private property belonging to Don Beck located on Rt. 5 entering St. Mary's City. The St. Mary's Sheriff's Department was called to take a report for property destruction and GOP volunteers vow that the signs will be restored and that efforts will be made to catch the next vandals....a total of six large yard signs have now been ripped down from private property where they were legally erected....Meanwhile, President Bush is leading the ST. MARY'S TODAY reader poll with 68 percent of the vote out of 878 votes cast...while St. Mary's Republican Commissioner President Tommy McKay struggles with only a 45 percent approval rating in 575 votes cast.
