Waldorf Man Dead After Crash
Into Pole: Booze at Blame, Say Police

WALDORF --- Maryland State Police report that on Tuesday, April 5th at  2:50 a.m. a 1998 Mercury Sable being operated by Richard Lee Berry 3rd, 20, of Waldorf, was traveling eastbound on MD Rt. 228, east of Middletown Road.  The vehicle left the roadway and struck an electric pole.  Berry was pronounced dead on the scene.   Preliminary investigation revealed alcohol may have been a contributing factor in this accident.  TFC J.
