Waldorf Man Lynched Self from Third Story Balcony When
Police Showed Up for his Stabbing Attack on Woman

WALDORF --- On September 11 at 2:30 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s Officers responded to a residence in the 8200 block of Seven Pines Lane in Waldorf for the report of a stabbing that had just occurred.

Officers arrived and found a 28-year-old woman who lives at the residence outside and suffering from lacerations. Investigation revealed the woman’s boyfriend, a 25-year-old man who also resides there, cut her with a knife during an argument.

The suspect was still inside the residence, as were five children, and was last seen going upstairs with a rope.

The Emergency Services Team responded and established a perimeter around the residence. Officers observed the suspect inside the residence preparing to hang himself. When officers entered the residence, the suspect hanged himself from a second-story balcony. Officers quickly pulled the suspect back onto the balcony and freed him from the rope.
The suspect was flown by a Maryland State Police helicopter to the Med Star heath facility at Washington Hospital Center and the victim of the stabbing was flown by a Maryland State Police helicopter to Prince George’s Hospital Center. The victim was released from the hospital later that morning. The children inside the residence were not injured. Officer J. Hastings investigated.
