Wedding Bells to Ring for Babcock

ST. MARY’S TODAY

LEONARDTOWN -- “She’s very pretty,” confirmed Alcohol Beverage Board member Thomas Bennett.

Board administrator Patricia Insley made the announcement at the board meeting Thursday afternoon that wedding bells would soon be ringing one more time for board chairman Al Babcock.

“I don’t care,” Babcock told ST. MARY'S TODAY when asked if Insley did the right thing when she announced secrets of his personal life at the board meeting.

In fact, Babcock had the glow of the deer in the rut season.

“Her name is Holly Melendez and she is from California, Maryland,” Babcock said about his would-be bride.

Babcock who is 51 now and would become 52 later this month said the bride’s age is 42. “She was born in Hawaii,” he said.

He said the wedding is set for October 7.
