William Glenn “Bill” Jett, Jr.
US Navy Viet Nam War Veteran
William Glenn “Bill” Jett, Jr, on December 26, 2004 at his home in Mechanicsville at the age of 62. He is survived by his wife, Dawn Burch Jett, his two sons, William Glenn Jett, III of Palatine, IL and Brian Patrick Jett of Charlotte Hall, his mother, Mary Margaret Jett of St. Petersburg, FL, a brother, Daniel L. Jett, of Excelsior, MN, and a sister, Margaret Ellen Braun of Charlotte, N.C. He was preceded in death by his father, William Glenn Jett.

A native of Washington, D.C., he owned and operated Hughesville Auto Body until he retired in 2000. He was an avid sports enthusiast and a member of the Mechanicsville Jaycees. He served in the United States Navy from 1964 to 1968, including tours of duty in Viet Nam aboard the USS Constellation and the USS Wainwright.

Friends received on Thursday, December 30, 2004 from 2-4 & 6-8PM at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. 30195 Three Notch Road Charlotte Hall, Maryland. Funeral Services 11AM Friday, December 31, 2004 at the Good Samaritan Presbyterian Church Route 5 - 3 Miles South of St. Charles Parkway Waldorf, Maryland. Interment will take place on Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at 2 p.m. at the Maryland Veteran’s Cemetery in Cheltenham.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Hospice of St. Mary’s County, P.O. Box 625, Leonardtown, MD 20650 or the American Cancer Society, 1041 Route 3 North, Gambrills, MD 21054
