Woman Charged After Demanding Payoff for Info on Missing Person
MECHANICSVILLE --- St. Mary's Sheriff's Department reports that on 06/13/04 at 12:30 am,   DFC Donald R. Poole arrested Julie Anne Clarke, 36, of Mechanicsville on an outstanding District Court Bench Warrant for Obstruction and Hindering.
An earlier investigation by DFC Robert C. Merritt revealed on 05/31/04 Clarke gave intentionally false and deceptive information to DFC Merritt regarding a possibly critically missing persons investigation. Clarke told investigating officers she did not have any knowledge regarding the location of the missing person, then later offered to reveal the location of the missing person in exchange for payment. Clarke was located and arrested by DFC Poole at the same time a La Plata man was arrested on drug charges in an open air drug market. Clarke was incarcerated to await bond review.
Sloeber Nabs Farmer with Crack Attack in Open Air Drug Market
Suspects nearly ran into police car while visiting a residence in local drug market
OAKVILLE --- On 06/13/04 at 12:45 am, St. Mary's Sheriff's DFC Donald R. Poole arrested Brian Anthony Farmer, 25, of LaPlata, and charged him with three (3) violations related to the possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), following a traffic stop on Kavanaugh Road in Oakville. Farmer was a passenger in the stopped vehicle, which had nearly struck a police vehicle while exiting a driveway, report police.  The subsequent investigation resulted in DFC James F. Fowler and K-9 "Sloeber" responding to the scene and locating several pieces of crack cocaine and a smoking device. Further investigation revealed the CDS and related paraphernalia belonged to Farmer. Farmer was incarcerated to await bond review.
