Woman Dead in Weekend Wreck

St. Mary's Sheriff's deputies report that on Saturday, October 16th at about 7:45 am,
Rose M. Price, 52 of Bushwood, was the operator of her
1999 Ford Windstar van, northbound on Mechanicsville Road with her 13
year old son. While driving, she failed to negotiate a curve and left
the right roadside. The vehicle went down an embankment, struck several
sections of a wooden fence, an electric pole guide wire, and continued
for several hundred feet in an open field before coming to rest.  A
wooden rail from the fence passed through the windshield of the vehicle
causing severe injuries to the driver.  Mrs. Price was removed from the
vehicle by Mechanicsville Volunteer Rescue Personnel and flown to Prince
Georges County Shock Trama by Maryland State Police helicopter Trooper
7, where she died as a result of her injuries at 1008 hours. Her son was
transported to St. Mary's Hospital where he was treated for minor
injuries and released.
Investigating Officers were listed as St. Mary's Sheriff's Deputies DFC Emory
Johnson, DFC. Douglas Mills, SDFC. Kevin Somerville, and DFC Elizabeth
Trossbach.
