Woman Wins Big Verdict After State Farm Offered Her Peanuts
Unanimous Jury Returns a Verdict of $1,370,025.25, In Excess of State Farm's Policy Limits, Compensating Ms. Terri Andersen for Injuries Sustained in 2002 Auto Collision
Calvert County, MD - - - June 5, 2006 - - - After days of testimony and almost seven hours of deliberations, a Calvert County, Maryland jury returned a verdict of $1,370,025.25 at approximately 11:30 pm on Friday, June 2, 2006. Ms. Terri Andersen suffered permanent injuries in a 2002 car crash, she required multiple surgeries, and she will continue to require medical care for the rest of her life.
Prior to suit being filed, the Plaintiff offered to settle for the Defendant's policy limits of $100,000.00 Until two weeks before the trial, the defendant's insurance carrier, State Farm Insurance Company, only offered $9,000.00 to resolve the case. "The Jury in this matter worked extremely hard to come to the right decision. They clearly went through all of the evidence in order to come to a just and fair result" said Ms. Andersen's attorney Thomas W. Farrington, of Goldberg & Finnegan, LLC.
